Our mission is to help Spartanburg County
youth realize their full potential for becoming
productive citizens by providing a comprehensive youth
development program through our Clubs, TEENSupreme
Center, and SMART Centers.
We reach kids in the following ways:
- Two
Boys and Girls Clubs: Operating 4 hours per
weekday throughout the school year at Cleveland
and Mary H. Wright Elementary Schools.
- Boys
and Girls Clubs Summer Day Camp: Operating both
clubs 4 hours per day for a summer of learning
and fun.
- SMART
Centers: Operating county wide in 19 locations
where targeted youth are assisted with their
homework assignments.
- TEENSupreme
Centers: A club focused on teenagers where we
encourage their personal success in life.
Ways our
progress is proven:
- Increased
club attendance to almost 200 children per day
- Opened
a total of 12 SMART Centers.
- Teen
program at Whitlock Jr. High School
- Increased
budget by 33% while holding overhead constant
Other
measurements of our success:
- Managers
reported that 84% of participating students
showed improved behavior
- Managers
reported that 86% of participating students
showed improved self-esteem
