VENUE:
- Kadena Air Force Base in front of Gates 1 through 5.
ORGANIZERS:
- International Committee of Non-Violent Action and O.P.E.N.
( The Okinawa Peace and Ecology Network ) c/o Mr. Tatsuaki Oshiro.
PARTICIPANTS:
- Peace activists from around the world, festival lovers, musicians ( both amateur and professional )
politicians, and the people of Okinawa.
TARGET:
- To have 25,000 participants present at each of the five gates.
STRATEGY:
- Perform concerts using musical instruments and talents at all five gates
WHAT TO BRING:
- Kanninbukuro, smiles, flowers, white flags, candles, and musical instruments
EXCEPTIONS:
- Please! No helmets and no masks. This is a completely non-violent action with no secrecy.
We aim to have fun. Individuals and groups affiliated with organizations accepting and/or practicing
violence are not invited to this demonstration. Use of violence for self-defense purposes
will not be an exception to this rule.
REGISTRATION COST:
- $500 dollars for foreign delegates which will cover board and lodging, room sharing and transportation
within the main island of Okinawa.

FACTS:
1609-1879: Okinawa is an independent Kingdom maintaining relationships with Portugal, mainland Asia and Emperors.
1879: The island is colonized by the Satasuma Clan of Kagoshima, Kyushu, Japan.
April to June 1945: Battle of Okinawa
1972: US returns Okinawa to Japan, but retains its military bases.
